Philip Tapia graduated from the University of Michigan in 2012 with a Bachelor of Science in Architecture.

Philip worked at a small language services firm in New York City where he helped start the acquisitions department working under the CFO on all sourcing, analyzing, negotiating, and closing of business acquisitions. He worked there for two-and-a-half years in this capacity and the company was successful in entering new verticals and expanding its global footprint.

Philip left his position to work full time on the development of a mobile application. The application was an ordering platform that remedied the long lines that formed at fast and fresh casual establishments at peak times. Before returning to school, the project was shelved due to Point of System API difficulties.

Philip’s intention in academia is to fuse his interest of the built environment with his demonstrated business experience. He intends to focus on Real Estate Development and Finance.
